Obituary

Lorraine M. Letizia nee Jahntz.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our precious mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

Lorraine passed away at her home at the golden age of 96 surrounded by her loving and devoted family who made sure she was never alone during her entire illness.

She was a devote Catholic and prayed the rosary every day, and when she could not attend mass, she prayed the mass at home on tv.

Lorraine loved playing cards, which she did every single day or night and sometimes both with her children and grandchildren! She never said no to playing cards, no matter how tired she was.

Lorraine worked as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell prior to her marriage to Charles.

She was the beloved wife of 71 years to the late Charles (Chuck) and an unbelievable mother, never thinking of herself, but only others needs.

Loving mother and matriarch of her children Janice (Anthony ) Coglianese, Nancy (late Stephen) Spomer, Charles D. (Diane) Letizia, Joyce (William ) Passero, Susan (Donald) Hankin, Jane (Thomas) Dawid, Mary Ellen (Gerard) Catrambone, Thomas (Victoria) Letizia, and Regina (Joseph) Lenc.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Max and Cora nee Hardy Jahntz, and daughter-in-law to Sebastian & Mary Letizia.

Fond Grandmother of 41

Great grandmother of 44.

Great- great grandmother of 3.

Dear sister of Marilyn Carter, late Howard Jahntz, late Will Jahntz, and late Marcella Excell.

Fond Aunt and great Aunt of many.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Divine Providence Church (Mary Mother of Divine Grace Parish) 2500 Mayfair Avenue, Westchester, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon.

A private interment will follow the Mass.

In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in her name would be appreciated.
