Richard
Baldacci
Oct 13, 1944 — Oct 9, 2026
Monday
ST. WALTER CATHOLIC CHURCH
9:30 - 11:30 am (Central time)
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL FOLLOWED BY MILITARY HONORS
Richard Baldacci, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. It was a sunny afternoon, before rush hour traffic and while it was still light out (allowing his family to safely return home and his inpatient hospice nurse ample time to complete paperwork before her shift ended); coincidence, we think not, as he was always looking out for others.
Rich (“Archie” to his childhood friends) was born on October 13,1944 in Chicago, IL to Gino and Argentina, nee Ghilardi, Baldacci. Beloved husband of Rosemarie, nee Lobraico, they were married for 58 years. Dear father of Gina and Richard (Grace); fond brother of Janet (Tom); fond brother-in-law, cherished son-in-law, uncle and friend to many. And, esteemed feline companion to Budde and Tucker.
Rich grew up in Chicago, enlisted in the Navy, had a long career as a barber and retired from Westfield Junior High School where he spent his later working years. He and Rosemarie moved to Bloomingdale early in their marriage, raising both their children in the house he loved and where he would spend hours tending to his lawn and puttering around his yard. At the end of the day, Rich could often be found sitting in a chair on his driveway socializing with just about anyone walking by. He truly was most joyful when he was at home connecting with the people around him.
A funeral mass is planned at St. Walter Catholic Church, 130 W Pine Ave, Roselle, IL 60172 on Monday, October 19th at 10AM. We will be receiving friends and family at 9:30AM.
