Rich was a  member of Local 3 Liquor and Warehouse Distributers Union and served on its Board. He worked for Wirtz Beverage for 38 years.  He was also an avid model railroad aficionado and his model train layout was featured in Classic Toy Train Magazine and the TV version of Classic Toy Trains.
