In Loving Memory of Rocco Anthony Elia
February 3, 1949 – July 6, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rocco Anthony Elia, who died peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 76.
A devoted father, proud business owner, and man of grit and loyalty, Rocco lived a life defined by hard work, deep love, and authenticity.
Born on February 3, 1949, Rocco built his life around hard work, honesty, friends & family. As a self-made businessman, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and took pride in doing things the right way—his way. His career was not just a livelihood, but a reflection of the dedication, integrity, and resilience that defined him.
Rocco's love for his family was the foundation of his world. He was a steady presence, a guiding voice, and a source of unconditional love and encouragement. His greatest joy came from time spent with family—gathered around a table of delicious Italian food, telling stories, sharing laughter, and making lifelong memories. He proudly wore his well-loved quarter-zip sweatshirts repping his daughters' alma maters, always happy to support them in the smallest and largest ways. He even happily tolerated endless hours of the Gypsy Kings echoing throughout the house because he knew the energetic Spanish guitar music made his family happy.
In his younger years, Rocco was a spirited adventurer who lived boldly. He traveled with his best friends and embraced every moment—from climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to pheasant hunting across the Midwest and prairie dog hunting on the plains. He raised and trained beautiful golden retrievers to be his faithful companions in the field and in the home. Those dogs weren't just hunting partners—they were part of his family, loyal and loved.
He is survived by Kim, Kate (Stanley), Anne (Kyle), and Baker who will carry forward his legacy with pride, laughter, and love.
A celebration of Rocco's life will be held on Saturday, July 12 from 11:00am-3pm at the Elia Home 4 Timberview Rd. Lemont, Il. 60439
"For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way."
—Frank Sinatra
